Georg Tappeiner (Photographers)

Professional photographer

For many years, being based in London and Milan, my photography was purely commercial, working mainly for advertising agencies all across Europe. About seven years ago, I decided to move back home to South Tirol, dedicating myself primarily to the photography that I really like: Landscape and people. By doing so, the main bulk of my work shifted from advertising to editorial, working freelance for magazines like Conde Nast Traveler, Geo and National Geographic. For National Geographic I also produced an ongoing exhibition with the title:“Dolomites — The rocky heart of the world” consisting of 50 large photographs of the Dolomites seen from the air as well as from the ground. This exhibition has been touring all over Europe for the last three years, at avenues like Photokina in Cologne, ITB in Berlin or at the Natural History Museum in Vienna, to name but a few. So far, the exhibition has been seen by about half a million people and is still ongoing at various events. At the moment I’m traveling all over Italy, taking pictures of all kinds of families. This is a job commissioned by the Italian Government, for the “Presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri” and the “Dipartimento della Famiglia”. The work will result in a exhibition that will be on show all over Italy starting later in the year. Publication of various calendars and photo books....More
