Naoki Honjo (Japan)

Born in Tokyo in 1978, Naoki Honjo is well-known for his unique photography using the tilt-shift function of a 4” x 5” large-format camera, which he started while in Tokyo Polytechnic University. He won the Kimura Ihei Award for his photo book “Small Planet” published by Little More in 2006. In 2008, Honjo joined a group exhibition “Reality Check: Truth and Illusion in Contemporary Photography” at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. He also provides his photos for use in advertising and magazines. From April to June 2013, he held a solo exhibition “Shinkirou — Bird’s Eye View of Yokkaichi” at the Yokkaichi Municipal Museum in Mie.
